HISTORY

The Specialty Group was established by Peter Leipnik, an Industrial Chemist, in November 1978 with one small powder coating line which produced label fabrics. Since this time, the company has grown into one of the largest finishing mills in Australia which produces over 900 different types of technical textiles for some 20 Industries. The company works primarily with 3 different technologies: solvent and aqueas coatings, textile laminating, and fiberglass and carbon composites. The Specialty Group has seen robust growth of its coated fabrics particularly in the snowsports outerwear sector to some of the world’s largest clothing brands.
